Tozan no Nichogama (or 当山の二丁鎌 in Japanese) is a Ryukyu Kobujutsu Kama Kata. The first part of this name – Tozan (or 当山 in Japanese) – was the last name of a Martial Arts Master of the Ryukyu Archipelago. To indicate that this kata is performed with two kama, the last part of its offical name in Japanese (ni-chō-gama) literaly states 二 (ni, meaning ‘two’) 丁 (chō, a counter) 鎌 (gama or kama, that is, an oriental sickle). In the video embedded below (recorded on 5 February 2024), budoka Johan Oldenkamp, a former national champion from the Netherlands, performs this ‘Kama Kata of Master Tozan’.
